5 Things That Helped Me Feel Like Me Again After Baby
Because motherhood doesn’t mean losing yourself
No one tells you how easy it is to disappear into motherhood.
Between feeding schedules, laundry, and the emotional ups and downs, I felt like I’d traded in my whole identity for nappies and night feeds.
This post isn’t about “bouncing back.” It’s about gently reconnecting with the parts of me that still matter—outside of being someone’s mum.
🌼 The 5 Things
1. Saying Yes to Alone Time Without Guilt
Even just 20 minutes to breathe, walk, or read something non-baby related. Not selfish—necessary.
2. Reconnecting With a Creative Outlet
Drawing, writing, taking photos, whatever felt like “mine.” Creativity became self-care.
3. Setting a Simple Weekly Ritual
Tea on the balcony, Friday-night foot soak, 10-minute journaling. Something predictable and gentle.
4. Finding Community (Even Just Online)
Reading other mums’ stories reminded me I wasn’t alone. It made me feel human again.
5. Dressing for Me, Not Just Comfort
One soft sweater or cute pair of earrings went a long way in helping me feel like… me.

Motherhood changed me—but I didn’t want to lose myself in it completely.
These 5 shifts helped me remember that I matter too. And so do you.
Take what feels good, leave the rest. You deserve gentleness too, Mama.
